The story behind Fris
Fris Vodka comes out of Denmark, specifically Northern Jutland, and it was introduced in 1989 by master distiller Knut Mygund. For years it ran off the stills at the Aalborg Distillery, one of the oldest distilling sites in Scandinavia. Ownership has moved around: Vin & Sprit, then Pernod Ricard in 2008, then Sazerac in 2016.
What stays constant is the wheat. Danish wheat, distilled clean, bottled at 80 proof. We have poured it for decades because it does the job without asking for attention, and the price keeps people coming back.
