The story

The story behind Fireball

Fireball started in 1984 as Dr. McGillicuddy's Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, built by Seagram on an unaged Canadian whisky base. Sazerac bought the brand in 1989 and finally dropped the prefix in 2007, which is when the red label most of us know took over back bars across Long Island.

The recipe is simple and stays that way: Canadian whisky, natural cinnamon, sugar. No barrel time, no grape, no agave. That is why it lands at 66 proof as a whisky based flavored liqueur rather than a straight whiskey. We have poured it here for decades, and it still moves faster than almost anything else on the shelf.
