The story behind Contino
Rioja is Spain's best known red wine region, set in the north near the Ebro River and split between cooler Atlantic influenced zones and warmer Mediterranean ones. Tempranillo leads most blends, often with Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo adding color, acidity and lift. Reserva wines see extended barrel and bottle age before release, so they arrive smoother and more savory than young reds.
Graciano is a supporting grape that rarely gets bottled alone, and when it does you get a dark, structured, high acid wine. We stock Contino in Commack in very small numbers, one or two bottles at a time.
