The story

The story behind Ciroc

Ciroc was created in 2003 by Jean-Sebastien Robicquet, a French enologist and Master Distiller, in the Gaillac and Cognac regions of France. The name folds together cime and roche, peak and rock, a nod to the high vineyards where the grapes grow. It is distilled from Ugni Blanc and Mauzac Blanc, cold fermented like fine wine, then run through four column stills and a fifth copper pot still at Maison Villevert.

We have poured it for Long Island customers for years, and the grape base is what people notice first: clean, faintly citrus, no grain bite. The flagship is unaged and rested cold before bottling. The flavored line sits a touch lower in strength. Both behave well in a glass and better in a cocktail.

Good to know

Ciroc questions, answered

Is Ciroc made from grapes?
Yes. Ciroc is distilled from French grapes, mainly Ugni Blanc and Mauzac Blanc, rather than grain or potato. The grapes are pressed, fermented into wine, then distilled five times, which gives it a clean, faintly citrus character.
Who owns Ciroc?
Ciroc is owned and distributed by Diageo, which took the brand on in 2007. It was created in 2003 by French Master Distiller Jean-Sebastien Robicquet, and production remains in France at the Maison Villevert distillery.
What proof is Ciroc vodka?
The original Ciroc Vodka is 80 proof, or 40 percent alcohol by volume. The flavored expressions, including Apple, Red Berry, Pineapple, Coconut, Peach, and Mango, are bottled at 70 proof, or 35 percent alcohol by volume.
Is Ciroc gluten free?
Ciroc is distilled from grapes and contains no grain, so it is naturally gluten free. Anyone with a serious allergy should still confirm with the producer, since distillation and bottling practices vary by facility.
Do you deliver Ciroc locally?
Yes. We offer same-day or next-day delivery across Nassau and Suffolk, free local delivery over $250, and free curbside pickup at our Commack store. Spirits ship to the states where it is legal, confirmed at checkout, so local delivery and pickup are the routes.
