Chop House Pinot Noir
California Pinot Noir built for the steakhouse table, priced for Tuesday.
The story behind Chop House
Chop House Cellars Pinot Noir comes out of California, blended and bottled in the state from grapes drawn across the broad California AVA. The label is a sourcing and retail trade name rather than a single estate, built for grocery and volume distribution, so there is no chateau gate to walk through and no founding date printed on a plaque.
What it does have is a point of view. Stainless steel fermentation at controlled temperature keeps the red fruit loud, then a short pass of toasty oak lays baking spice over the top. We have poured value California Pinot next to this one for years, and the cranberry and cola note is what regulars come back for.
Explore the Chop House range
One Pinot Noir carries this label, and that is the whole story. Here is the bottle we stock, with the Cabernet and Chardonnay from the same house for context.

Which Chop House is right for you?
Chop House Pinot Noir 750mL sits at $9.99 on our shelf, which is below the $11.99 to $13.00 the brand typically fetches at regional retailers. At that number you are buying a dry California red with real cranberry and cherry lift, not a placeholder. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay from the same house are also $9.99, so a mixed three bottle run stays under thirty dollars. Stock on all three moves, so call ahead at (631) 343-7200 before you drive to Commack and we will tell you what is on hand.
Bright acidity cuts lean beef and pork without a heavy tannin bill.
$9.99 a bottle, dry, food friendly, easy to restock without thinking.
Red cherry and baking spice hold up to grilled salmon and wild mushrooms.

Serve it at 55F to 60F, a few minutes out of the fridge, and the toasty oak settles down behind the fruit.
