The story

The story behind Casa Noble

Casa Noble comes from Tequila, Jalisco, at the La Cofradia distillery, NOM 1137. The modern brand was founded in 1997 by Jose "Pepe" Hermosillo, a seventh-generation master tequilero, on estate grounds with distillation roots back to the late 1700s. Every drop uses 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave from the lowlands of Jalisco, harvested up to 11 or 12 years of age.

What sets Casa Noble apart is certification and patience. It was among the first tequilas to earn USDA Organic and CCOF certification, farming without chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. The pinas slow-cook for 36 hours in stone ovens, ferment with wild airborne yeasts, and run through small pot stills three times. Aged expressions rest in new, lightly toasted French oak from cooperages like Taransaud and Nadalie, not used American whiskey barrels.

Good to know

Casa Noble questions, answered

Is Casa Noble Tequila additive-free?
Yes. Casa Noble uses organic agave and avoids artificial flavor or color additives, relying on French oak barrels for natural color and flavor development. The result is a clean, traditional tequila profile.
Does Carlos Santana still own Casa Noble Tequila?
No. Carlos Santana joined as a partial owner and brand ambassador in 2011, but Constellation Brands fully acquired Casa Noble in 2014, ending his ownership stake.
What makes French oak barrels different for tequila aging?
Most tequilas age in used American bourbon barrels, which add caramel and char. Casa Noble uses new, lightly toasted French oak from cooperages like Taransaud, giving soft floral aromas, baking spices, and silky texture while preserving agave character.
Where is Casa Noble Tequila made?
Casa Noble is made at the La Cofradia distillery, NOM 1137, in the city of Tequila within Jalisco, Mexico. The estate grows its own Blue Weber agave.
Is Casa Noble Tequila certified organic?
Yes. Casa Noble is certified organic by both the USDA and California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), using estate-grown agave farmed without chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.
