The story behind Cannonball
Cannonball started in 2006 in Healdsburg, Sonoma County, when Yoav Gilat, Dennis Hill and a team of wine industry veterans launched a Cabernet Sauvignon first. The Sauvignon Blanc came later, drawn from vineyards across California microclimates and made as a fresh, unoaked white. Since the 2022 vintage the brand has bottled in lighter 460g domestic glass.
We have poured Cannonball Sauvignon Blanc for years because it does the everyday job without fuss. Stainless steel fermentation keeps the fruit bright and the acidity high. The 2020 vintage earned 90 points and a Best Buy nod from Wine Enthusiast. That is a lot of wine for the money, and our Commack counter has said so since the beginning.
