Chardonnay is the white grape growers plant almost everywhere, and it takes on the place it grows. Carneros, the cool fog belt at the southern end of Napa and Sonoma, gives Chardonnay a leaner frame: green apple, citrus, a touch of toast when oak is used with a light hand.
