The story

The story behind Blackstone

Blackstone Winery started in Sonoma County in 1990 and built its name on an approachable California Merlot before the Cabernet joined the lineup. The grapes are multi appellation, drawn from more than 100 select vineyards across Sonoma County, Monterey, the Central Coast, and Napa Valley. Each lot is harvested and developed on its own to hold its local character, then blended.

The flagship Winemaker's Select is typically 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Syrah, and 1% Petite Sirah, aged about 11 months in French and American oak. That oak brings vanilla, warm toast, caramel, and coconut against black cherry and plum. We have poured Blackstone Cabernet for decades because it behaves the same way every vintage.

Blackstone cocktails and pairings

Serve Blackstone Cabernet at 60 to 65 degrees, cool room temperature, and skip the long decant. The soft tannins want fat and salt.
Good to know

Blackstone questions, answered

What kind of wine is Blackstone Cabernet Sauvignon?
It is a California red table wine, typically a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Syrah, and 1% Petite Sirah. Blackstone sources fruit from Sonoma, Monterey, the Central Coast, and Napa Valley and ages it about 11 months in French and American oak.
Who owns Blackstone wine?
Blackstone Winery was founded in Sonoma County in 1990 and built its reputation on approachable California Merlot before adding Cabernet Sauvignon. The brand has changed corporate hands over the years, but the winemaking style has stayed consistent and value driven.
Is Blackstone Cabernet dry or sweet?
It is dry. The residual sugar is low, and the impression of sweetness comes from oak aging, which adds vanilla, caramel, and coconut notes. Expect black cherry and plum fruit with soft tannins rather than sugar.
How should I serve Blackstone Cabernet Sauvignon?
Serve it at 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit, which is cool room temperature. It does not need long decanting or cellaring because the tannins are already soft. Pair it with steak, gourmet burgers, blue cheese, or red sauce pasta.
Can I get Blackstone Cabernet delivered or pick it up?
Yes. We offer same-day or next-day delivery across Nassau and Suffolk, free curbside pickup in Commack, and free local delivery on orders over $250. Wine ships to the states where it is legal, confirmed at checkout. Must be 21 or older.
