The story

The story behind Belposto

Belposto comes from northeastern Italy, grown in the Veneto and Delle Venezie D.O.C. on vineyards tucked into the foothills of the Alps. Sunny days and cool nights do the heavy lifting, and the grapes are picked by hand in early September. Sisters Caterina and Barbara grew up in those northern vineyards working beside their father, and the label reached the United States in 2018.

The name means Beautiful Place, which is the whole point. Fermentation runs three weeks in temperature controlled stainless steel, malolactic is deliberately skipped to keep the acidity bright, and the wine rests at least two months on light lees with periodic stirring for a little texture. No oak, no secondary blending, just 100% Pinot Grigio.

Buying guidance

Which Belposto is right for you?

Belposto is priced to be opened on a Tuesday, not saved for a birthday. Every bottle in the lineup, the Pinot Grigio, the Prosecco, the Montepulciano and the Pink Moscato, is $11.99 at our Commack counter. That puts a dry Veneto white with real lees aging in reach of a weeknight dinner, and it means you can buy Belposto online by the mixed case without flinching. We have sold Italian whites at this price for years, and this one holds its own against bottles twice the number.

Good to know

Belposto questions, answered

Is Belposto Pinot Grigio dry or sweet?
It is a strictly dry white wine. Bright tropical fruit and golden apple lead into a crisp, clean finish with very little residual sugar, so it drinks refreshing rather than sweet.
Where is Belposto wine made?
All Belposto wines are produced and estate bottled in Italy. The Pinot Grigio and Prosecco come from the northeastern Veneto and Delle Venezie region, while the Montepulciano is made in Abruzzo.
What does the name Belposto mean?
In Italian, Belposto translates directly to Beautiful Place. The founders chose it to evoke the natural beauty, culture and traditional wine landscapes of Italy.
What grapes are used in Belposto Pinot Grigio?
It is made from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes. The fruit is estate grown in the Triveneto area, where alpine foothills shield the vineyards from harsh northern weather.
