The story

The story behind Bellissima

Bellissima comes out of the Treviso province in Veneto, the same northeastern corner of Italy that gave us Prosecco, and it is made from 100% organic Glera. Christie Brinkley co-founded the brand, and it landed on US shelves in 2016. Everything is fermented the Italian way, Martinotti-Charmat, in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks rather than in bottle.

The zero sugar bottlings take a longer Charmat run of about six months, letting the yeast eat every gram of residual sugar on its own, no sweeteners involved. The line is certified organic by ICEA and vegan by BevVeg. We have poured Bellissima for customers who want a clean, dry glass without the sugar load, and it holds up.

The zero sugar expressions finish with no residual sugar. Bellissima uses a long Charmat fermentation of roughly six months so the yeast consumes all natural sugar, with no artificial sweeteners added. The standard Prosecco DOC Brut is dry, holding 6 to 7 grams per liter.
