Arabella Reds Other
South African reds, soft tannins, honest everyday prices.
The story behind Arabella
Arabella comes out of Ashton, near Robertson in South Africa's Western Cape, on land the de Wet family has farmed since the 1860s. Stephen de Wet and his son Jamie built a new cellar after the family property was partitioned in August 2005, and the first vintage landed in 2006. The name is a nod to the Arabian endurance horses the family breeds, and both men ride.
The vineyards sit on the floor of an ancient inland lake, and that nutrient rich soil keeps vine development even. The style is deliberate: fruit forward, juicy, soft tannins, with the reds seeing up to nine months in oak for light spice and vanilla. Arabella makes everyday wine that drinks like it costs more than it does.

Which Arabella is right for you?
Arabella sits in the value tier and we price it that way. The Cabernet Sauvignon is $10.98, the Chenin Blanc $11.99, and the Merlot and Pinotage are both $13.98 for a full 750mL. For a family estate in the Robertson Valley with oak aging on the reds, that is a lot of wine for the money. Buy Arabella online and we will have it ready for pickup in Commack or on a local delivery route.

Arabella cocktails and pairings
Serve these slightly cool, 60 to 65 degrees, and give the Shiraz or Cabernet thirty minutes of air. Robust meat is the lane.
