Afectus White Blend
Portuguese Vinho Verde from granite soil and Atlantic breeze.
The story behind Afectus
Afectus comes out of Quinta de Curvos, an estate in Portugal's Vinho Verde region with roots going back to the 1600s. The Fonseca family bought and rebuilt it in 1976, and the second generation runs it today. Fruit comes off estate vineyards in Forjães, Ponte de Lima and Barcelos, on granite soils in a valley between the mountains and the Atlantic.
That geography is the whole story. Maritime breezes keep the vines cool, and the wines carry a light saline edge you can taste. Fermentation happens in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with minimal skin contact, so the fruit stays bright and the acidity stays lively. No oak, no heaviness. The label art nods to the estate's centennial camellia gardens.
Explore the Afectus range
Three bottlings cover the range: the Branco blend, a single-varietal Loureiro, and Alvarinho. All are dry, low in alcohol, and built for the table.

Which Afectus is right for you?
Afectus sits in the value tier, and we price it that way. The Branco 750mL is $11.98, the Loureiro 750mL is $11.98, and the Alvarinho Vinho Verde 750mL is $11.99. For a family estate with four centuries behind it, that is a serious bargain. Buy Afectus online or walk in and grab a bottle off the shelf in Commack. At these numbers, buy the case and keep a few chilled.
Acidity and salinity cut through scallops, shrimp and grilled fish without overpowering them.
12% ABV, barely any residual sugar, and enough flavor to drink on its own.
Alvarinho gives peach and mineral depth, a step up in complexity for a few cents more.
