The story behind 1792
Full proof bourbon means the whiskey goes into the bottle at or near the strength it held when it came off the still, before the usual splash of water brings it down. That leaves the barrel character up front: caramel, toasted oak, baking spice and a warm, coating finish. Kentucky straight bourbon is corn led with rye and malted barley in support, aged in new charred oak.
