About this bottle

Collosorbo Brunello di Montalcino is a benchmark expression of Sangiovese Grosso from the sun-drenched hills of southern Tuscany. The estate, run by the Ciacci family since the 1990s, farms organically on galestro and sandy clay soils, yielding grapes of uncommon concentration and finesse. After a careful hand harvest, the wine spends roughly three years in large Slavonian oak casks followed by extended bottle rest, emerging powerful yet impeccably balanced.

In the glass you’ll find a deep garnet core that releases heady aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, violet, rosemary, and freshly tilled earth. The palate is full-bodied and vibrant, layering juicy red berries with notes of dried fig, cocoa, sandalwood, and a distinctive iron-tinged minerality. Silky tannins and brisk acidity carry the flavors through a long, savory finish, promising graceful development over the next decade or more.

Pair this classic Brunello with herb-crusted lamb, wild mushroom risotto, or aged Pecorino for an authentic Tuscan experience. Serving at 60-65°F after an hour of decanting will showcase its aromatics.

Tasting notes

Nose

Tart cherry and wild plum lead, then dried oregano, leather and a dusty earth note that smells like a sun warmed Tuscan path.

Palate

Firm and dry, with fine tannins that grip gently. Tart cherry and plum come first, then leather and dried herbs, lifted by bright acidity that keeps the wine powerful but not heavy.

Finish

Long and savory, echoing dried herbs and dusty earth, with a final tug of tannin and mouthwatering acidity.

How to serve and what to pour it with

Serve at cellar temperature, around 62 to 65 degrees, in a wide bowl Burgundy glass. Decant for an hour to soften the tannins and open the aromatics. If you pull the cork and pour right away, give the glass a few minutes of air. A slow cooked meal is the best excuse to open it.
