Nose
Straight star anise, clean and bright, with a sugary licorice lift and a faint herbal edge behind it. Big and immediate, no shyness here.
Palate
Thick and syrupy, coats the tongue. Sweet anise floods first, then a rounder licorice midpalate, warm going down. Not cloying, but definitely sweet, with the spice building as it sits.
Finish
Long and warming, anise lingering on the back of the throat with a soft sweetness that fades slowly.
How to serve and what to pour it with
