Sonoma Brothers Vodka
Grape and corn vodka from twin brothers in Sonoma County.
The story behind Sonoma Brothers
Sonoma Brothers started in 2012 in Windsor, Sonoma County, California, founded by twin brothers Chris and Brandon Matthies. Chris is a fire captain and Brandon a police sergeant, and they built the distillery around day jobs that do not allow for shortcuts. The vodka runs twice through a handmade Arnold Holstein copper pot still, then through a 15 foot vodka column, then carbon filtration.
The mash bill is the part worth remembering: California grown grapes blended with non GMO corn, not a grain only recipe. That grape fraction is why the spirit smells of fruit before it smells of alcohol. The early batches used corn, wheat and barley; the current recipe is the grape and corn one. The packaging took Master status at The Spirits Business Design and Packaging Masters in 2018.

Sonoma Brothers cocktails and pairings
Chill it hard and pour it with briny things. The grape note meets oysters and goat cheese instead of fighting them.
