Zinfandel is California's signature red grape, and the East Bench bottling from Ridge shows the brighter, structured side of the variety. Expect brambly dark fruit, a peppery lift and firm tannin rather than jammy sweetness, the kind of Zinfandel that drinks well with food and rewards a little air in the glass.
