Jean De Roze Chardonnay
A small stock Chardonnay, poured plain and priced fair.
The story behind Jean De Roze
Chardonnay is the white grape that grows almost everywhere and drinks in two broad directions. Unoaked bottlings run lean and crisp, with green apple and citrus. Oaked ones pick up vanilla, butter and toast from the barrel. Either way, it is a still, dry white wine, usually 11 to 14 percent alcohol, and it is one of the most food friendly whites on the shelf.
We keep Jean De Roze Chardonnay in Commack as a small stock item, one or two bottles at a time. It is a 750mL bottle at 12.98, an easy everyday pour for a Tuesday dinner or a last minute gathering.
