The story behind Big Smooth
Cabernet Sauvignon is the backbone red of California and beyond: thick skinned grapes, dark fruit, firm tannin and a finish that hangs on. Zinfandel is the bolder cousin, riper and jammier, often with a peppery edge. Both are the kind of red people reach for with grilled food and cold weather.
