Batch 4 of Rare Character Bourbon is a small-release showcase of Kentucky craftsmanship, bottled at 750 mL exclusively from a handful of perfectly matured barrels. Distilled from a high-rye mash bill and aged well past the four-year benchmark in charred American oak, this expression rewards the senses from the first pour. The nose opens with generous layers of warm caramel corn, honey-drizzled brioche, and roasted pecans lifted by a spritz of orange oil. On the palate, silky waves of vanilla bean, toffee, and dark cherry mingle with baking spice, cocoa nib, and a subtle note of mint that comes from the rye component. A dash of black pepper frames the long, confident finish, leaving echoes of maple and toasted oak that invite another contemplative sip.
