Nose
Rye grain up front, dry and grassy, with cracked black pepper, a curl of orange peel, and faint vanilla from the barrel char.
Palate
Medium full and oily across the tongue. Pepper and caraway hit first, then a corn sweetness rounds the middle, drying toward clove and toasted oak on the back.
Finish
Long and warm, peppery, with rye spice and a soft caramel glow that lingers.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Neat at room temperature in a tulip glass or a rocks glass, and give it a few minutes to open after pouring. A splash of water tames the pepper and pulls out the corn sweetness. One large cube works if you want it colder, but skip the crushed ice, it dulls the rye.
