Nose
Ripe blackberry and dark cherry jump out first, with a dusting of cracked black pepper and a warm baking spice note underneath.
Palate
Full bodied and soft, almost plush. Jammy blackberry and cherry fill the middle, then pepper and sweet spice come through. Low tannin, gentle acidity, a hint of sweetness on the edges.
Finish
Lingers on sweet dark fruit and a final pinch of pepper. Medium length, easy and warm.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve slightly cool, around 60 to 65 degrees, in a wide bowl Zinfandel glass so the jammy fruit opens up. No decanting needed, just pour and let it sit a minute. If it feels too warm, a brief chill in the fridge tightens the sweetness. Great with a slight chill on a hot day.
