The Long Island Wine & Spirit Merchant TeamTasting notes
Nose
Sweet cream first, then a clear whiskey warmth, cocoa powder, vanilla bean, and a faint toasted sugar note that keeps it from smelling like dessert alone.
Palate
Thick and velvety on the tongue, coating without gumming up. The cream leads, whiskey heat rises through the middle, cocoa and vanilla follow, and a gentle caramel sweetness closes. Enough bite to keep it from being cloying.
Finish
Lingers with soft caramel and a whisper of whiskey warmth. Medium length, clean, and not sticky.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve it slightly chilled, neat in a small glass, or over one large cube so the dilution stays slow. In coffee, add it off the heat so the cream does not curdle. Shake the bottle gently before pouring, since the cream can settle. A little goes further than you think.
