Nose
Ripe plum and dark cherry lead, with a soft mocha note underneath and a faint earthy turn that keeps it from feeling candied.
Palate
Medium body, round and easy. Sweet dark cherry up front, plum in the middle, a dusting of cocoa toward the back. Tannins are gentle and fine, acid is modest, so it sips smooth without going flabby.
Finish
Short and soft, fading on plum skin and a last touch of mocha. Clean, no grip, no heat.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve it cool but not cold, around 60 to 65 degrees, so the fruit stays lifted. A small red wine glass is plenty; no decanting needed, just pour and let it breathe a minute. The 187mL is a glass and a half, so finish it in one sitting rather than recorking for later.
